High-Isolation 5G Repeater Antenna Using a Novel DGS and an EBG

Repeaters have been widely used to improve communication quality and extend the coverage areas of wireless systems. However, mutual coupling between Tx Rx antennas significantly deteriorates performance repeater This work presents a high-isolation antenna operating in frequency range 3.6–3.7 GHz 5G system. Perpendicularly arranged microstrip patch are because this arrangement can lead greater isolation than parallel arrangement. perpendicular results radiation pattern distortion due ground mode. A novel defected structure (DGS) is developed suppress mode simultaneously reduce antennas. An electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) additionally employed further increase isolation. The measurement fabricated show no deformation an improvement 28 dB over without DGS EBG.
